Single-stage ceramic coating on a sedan typically runs $500–$800. Multi-stage packages with full paint correction run $1,000–$1,800. Show-car packages with coating on wheels, glass, and trim run higher. Pricing depends on vehicle size, paint condition, and which tier of coating product is used. Professional ceramic coatings — applied correctly to properly prepped paint — last 2–5 years depending on product tier. Consumer spray-on coatings typically last 1–2 months. The difference is real coating chemistry vs. a labeled wax. Properly maintained coatings with regular ph-neutral washes hit the upper end of that range.

Ceramic coating is not scratch-proof. It resists swirl marks from improper washing and minor surface contamination, but it will not prevent rock chips or deeper impact damage. What it does do is preserve paint depth and gloss, reduce contamination, and make weekly maintenance dramatically easier. For impact protection, paint protection film is the right product.

Single-stage applies one layer of ceramic over light paint correction — appropriate for newer or well-maintained vehicles. Multi-stage involves deeper paint correction (multiple compounds and polishing passes) followed by two ceramic layers for higher gloss and longer protection.
